Professional networks for promoting adaptive, process-oriented, digitally supported innovations in STEM teacher training

MINT-ProNeD Mathematics supports teachers in implementing digital, adaptive, and process-oriented mathematics instruction. At the University of Education Freiburg, a practice-focused professional development approach was developed that combines current research in mathematics education, digital tools, and concrete classroom examples. The focus lies on fostering mathematical problem solving—illustrated through tasks such as the “staircase numbers”—and on exploring how digital learning environments can enhance teaching and learning processes. Through close collaboration between schools, universities, and research institutions, MINT-ProNeD creates sustainable professional development opportunities that empower teachers to guide students in exploring, structuring, and reflecting on mathematical problems effectively.
