Latsis Symposium 2021
Abstract
This talk examines how digital tools can support effective STEM learning by integrating evidence from meta-analyses, instructional design principles, and classroom studies. It identifies which digital formats work best, why their impact differs across learners, and how adaptive environments particularly benefit low-achieving students. Using log-file and engagement data, the talk highlights the importance of learners’ cognitive and motivational involvement when interacting with digital tools. The presentation concludes with implications for designing and researching technology-enhanced instruction.
